Job summary

WGI in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Crew Chief II with 4+ years of SUE experience to lead field crews in underground utility exploration and survey locations. The role includes supervising tasks, ensuring safety, data collection, and coordinating with project teams.

The position requires travel within the regional area and occasional trips to other states. A strong work ethic and ability to multitask are essential to maintain workflow.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with SUE, utility designating and test holes.
• Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and obtain DOT Medical Card within 60 days.
• Willingness to travel up to 2 weeks at a time.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a crew leader supervising multiple field crews.
• Directs SUE tasks in the field and leads safety meetings.
• Reads roadway plans, as-builts, and utility markups.
• Designates utilities and operates locating equipment in varied conditions.
• Trains junior technicians and coordinates with survey/CADD staff.
• Maintains trucks and field equipment and completes field notebooks.
