Job summary

Wisconsin Department of Corrections seeks a Treatment Specialist I to implement, evaluate, and coordinate Substance Use Disorder treatment programs. This role includes group facilitation, reviewing participant work, and documenting progress weekly to prepare discharge summaries.

The position involves identifying client needs related to substance use and social functioning, developing treatment plans with supervisory approval, and coordinating referrals with DCC staff across multiple modules.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of treatment methods for addiction and SUD
• Understanding of alcohol and drug effects on behavior
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity
• Ability to identify community resources and referrals
• Strong planning, organizing, and documentation skills
• Experience administering/interpreting assessment instruments
• Skilled in facilitating group and individual counseling
