Job summary

HealthRIGHT 360 operates a family of programs across California, offering residential and outpatient medical and behavioral health services for individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues.

The SUD Counselor II role involves delivering individual and group counseling, case management, and crisis intervention within a multidisciplinary team, while ensuring documentation and compliance with program requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be registered as an Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor or SUD Counselor with CA approved certifying agency (CCAPP, CADTP, or CAADE).
• First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Possess a valid CA driver\'s license.
• Experience working with diverse populations with substance use/mental health issues preferred.
• Bachelor\'s degree in health and human services, social work, psychology, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an assigned caseload of up to 25 clients and provide individualized weekly counseling.
• Facilitate group counseling sessions and teach classes on treatment topics.
• Perform crisis intervention and communicate with the treatment team.
• Document all sessions within 24–72 hours per contract requirements.
• Support discharge paperwork and treatment plans, and coordinate with internal/external resources.
