Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in advising, counseling, student services, human services or related field.
  • Higher education experience preferred.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with CRM software (Salesforce) preferred.
  • Experience with student information systems preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to tailor communications to audience and use multiple delivery methods.
  • Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment and handle ambiguity.
  • Residency in or relocation to Wisconsin required; eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Background and reference checks required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point person for assigned students throughout enrollment.
  • Provide academic advising, mentoring, and general student services.
  • Develop individualized learning plans with resources and next steps.
  • Monitor academic progress and intervene when students encounter difficulties.
  • Liaise with faculty and program representatives regarding student progress.
  • Identify and address work/life barriers to student success.
  • Provide career guidance and refer students to campus career services.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to meet enrollment and retention goals.
  • Remain available during scheduled hours and maintain proactive wraparound support.
  • Work with stakeholders to support student engagement and success.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in advising, counseling, student services, human services or related field

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate field preferred
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software preferred
  • Salesforce experience preferred
  • Experience with student information systems preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to match message delivery to audience needs via multiple delivery methods
  • Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing active listening and critical thinking skills to solve problems
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and handle ambiguity
  • Ability to use databases, Microsoft Office Suite, and social networking tools
  • Residency in or relocation to Wisconsin required
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship required
  • Successful completion of criminal background and reference checks required
