Job description

Buena Vista University (BVU) seeks a collaborative and detail-oriented individual who is a strong relationship builder to serve as a Success Coach. This individual is responsible for providing holistic coaching and developing one-on-one relationships with students to promote persistence and graduation.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic coaching and develop one-on-one relationships with students to promote persistence and graduation.
• Carry a caseload of first or second year students and help them access campus resources, explore their major, find extracurricularements, financial planning, career advice, and general support in navigating college.
• Coordinate pre-arrival outreach to students, maintain regular communication, including 1:1 meetings, and coordinate workshops to address student transition issues.
• Proactively work with students to support their growth, development, and success at BVU.
• Assist with Student Success major programs and BVU traditions, including Orientation, Welcome Weekend, Resident Move-In, and Buenafication Day.

Qualifications

• Highly motivated, personable, flexible, detail-focused, and adaptable to changing environments.
• Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated experience with higher education, life coaching, leadership programs, or similar areas.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
