Job summary
New York City Transit seeks a Structure Maintainer — Group D (Sheet Metal) to perform sheet metal work in subway, surface and elevated structures, including stations and enclosures. Qualifications
- Completion of a four-year apprenticeship in the sheet metal trade or three years journey-level experience in sheet metal fabrication.
- Two years of experience plus one of: vocational high school in sheet metal; trade school 600 hours in sheet metal; or associate degree in sheet metal.
Responsibilities
- Perform sheet metal work in subway, surface and elevated structures including stations and enclosures.
- Install, maintain and repair roofs, skylights, ducts, leaders and gutters.
- Fabricate sheet metal, plastic and fiberglass parts and devices as needed.
- Load, unload and drive trucks and vans; keep records.
