Job summary

Penhall Company is seeking a Subsurface Specialist to perform subsurface investigations using GPR and EM pipe location equipment while also driving business development. The role requires strong technical skills, client engagement, and the ability to travel across the state and beyond as needed.

The candidate should have a solid grounding in utility locating, mapping, and report writing, with a customer-first mindset and the ability to build long-term partnerships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical certification in GPR or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in GPR or construction scanning preferred.
• Prior sales or customer-facing experience in construction or industrial services is a strong plus.
• Proven field experience with underground utility location and mapping investigations.

Responsibilities

• Perform subsurface investigations utilizing GPR and EM pipe location technologies.
• Deliver on-site solutions, marks, and reports per safety standards.
• Engage clients to capture data and establish long-term partnerships.
• Pursue new business opportunities through office and site visits.
• Collaborate with regional teams to leverage client relationships for cross-selling.
• Prepare quotes, proposals, and pricing negotiations.
