Our school has two beautiful campuses: Preschool through grade 5 in Los Altos and a few miles away in Mountain View are grades 6-12. Our ideal substitutes are individuals who appreciate Waldorf education, can provide a warm and nurturing presence, and are comfortable stepping into a variety of learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom supervision and support as directed by the lead teacher
• Maintain a calm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
• Uphold classroom rhythms, routines, and community agreements
• Support students’ social-emotional well‑being throughout the day
• Communicate effectively with faculty, parents and administrative staff
• Ensure student safety and follow all school policies and procedures

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 6 ECE units required for Early Childhood
• Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
• Waldorf training preferred, or interest in, or familiarity with Waldorf education
• Strong classroom/student management and communication skills
• Ability to adapt, take initiative, and maintain a steady, grounded presence
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work on short noticeon-call, as‑needed basis
• Must pass a background check and TB assessment

Compensation

The hourly payrate for this position is $23.97 an hour.
