Job summary

ESS is seeking a Substitute Teacher to cover classrooms in Ulster Township, PA for the Athens Area School District. The role supports instruction in the absence of the regular teacher and follows prepared lesson plans to keep students on track.

The substitute collaborates with staff to maintain routines, ensures a safe environment, and reports injuries or disciplinary issues to administration. A Bachelor's degree and PA teaching certification or Act 86 eligibility are required, plus necessary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and PA teaching certification or Act 86 eligibility.
• Clearances: Act 24 arrest report, Act 34 state police, Act 114 federal background checks.
• Act 126 mandated reporter training, Act 151 child abuse clearance, Act 71 suicide prevention training, Act 168 misconduct disclosure, and TB test/physical.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent.
• Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration.

Substitute Teacher

An ESS substitute teacher assists with classroom instruction in the absence of a regular teacher. This person follows and teaches lesson plans, aids students in understanding subject matter, and ensures that regular classroom routines are followed.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent
• Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives
