A SLAM Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining continuity of instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This role involves implementing lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and creating a safe, productive learning environment for students across various grade levels and subject areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to deliver instruction effectively
• Maintain classroom order and implement school behavior policies
• Take attendance and complete required documentation
• Adapt instruction as needed to meet student needs and classroom dynamics
• Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, and during other school activities
• Communicate with school staff regarding any issues or concerns that arise
• Provide feedback to the regular teacher regarding student progress and classroom activities
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times
• Uphold school policies, procedures, and professional standards
