Job summary

Pendleton County Schools is seeking an Extra-Curricular Mentor/Transitional Trainer for Long-Term Substitute Teachers to provide onboarding, coaching, and professional guidance to new staff outside the regular instructional day.

The role requires a WV Teaching Certificate, 3+ years of teaching experience preferred, and a commitment to confidentiality while supporting substitutes with policies, procedures, and classroom expectations.

Qualifications

• Valid West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate.
• Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of county policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and coaching skills.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Orient substitutes with school and county expectations.
• Provide onboarding orientation including procedures, schedules, and daily operations.
• Explain county and school policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
• Assist substitutes in locating instructional materials, supplies, technology, and support personnel.
• Maintain logs of mentoring activities and submit documentation to the principal.
