Job summary

Scoot Education is hiring substitute educators to support classrooms across partner schools. You will supervise students, foster an inclusive learning environment, and assist with classroom routines under teacher plans.

Dedicated Scoot consultants provide 1:1 guidance, ongoing feedback, and career planning. Compensation includes a daily pay range and direct deposit with tax handling as a W-2 employee.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, associate's degree or college credits required.
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor.
• State & federal background checks required.
• TB risk assessment or test required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in classrooms, playgrounds, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment with student engagement.
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions per teacher plans.
• Communicate clearly with school staff and leave feedback for the returning teacher.
• Sit/stand/walk and lift up to 30 lbs to assist students.

Daily Pay Range:

$168 - $221.Pay will vary forday-to-day assignments and is typicallymore for long-term placements.Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.

Role Requirements:

• Have a teaching credential/certificate or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit
• Have previous experience in special education settings
• Are bilingual and/or have bilingual teaching experience

What You’ll Do:

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Encourage student engagement and participation throughout the day
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions, following any lesson plans left by the teacher
• Communicate clearly with school staff
• Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher
• Sitting, standing, and walking, and able to lift up to 30 lbs while safely assisting students
• Observe and communicate across varied environments, incl. indoor and outdoor settings
• Additional role requirements will be in the handbook and shared during the interview process
