Job summary

Burlington Children’s Space in Burlington, Vermont seeks substitute teachers to join our team. This is an hourly position at $18 per hour for 2+ days per week, 8:00am–3:00pm. You will support infants to preschoolers and work with staff in a diverse, accredited program.

We welcome college students exploring teaching as a career and offer hands-on experience in a community-based early care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• ECE or related coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developmentally appropriate curriculum and contribute ideas.
• Perform daily classroom duties under supervision of a classroom teacher.
• Pass information along to classroom teachers.
• Ensure safe and proper use of toys and equipment.
• Adhere to the BCS program philosophy.
• Assist in completing daily opening and closing duties outlined in classroom checklists.
• Help with chores throughout the day—breakfast prep, cleanup, laundry, dishes, etc.
