Job summary

Kokua Education in New York City is seeking substitute teachers for the 2026-27 school year. You set your schedule—up to 5 days/week—in K-12 classrooms across NYC and earn up to $210 per day, with weekly pay. We reimburse background checks after 10 assignments and provide sick days, plus transportation assistance.

Strong classroom management and 1+ year experience with K-12 students are preferred. This role can lead to permanent positions at high-performing schools, with support to help you

Qualifications

You’re a great fit if you:

• Completed a Bachelor's Degree
• Have 1+ year(s) experience working with K-12 students
• Feel confident managing a classroom of students

• Pass state & federal background checks (costs reimbursed after 10 assignments)
• Believe every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world

Preference given to candidates willing to commute to 2+ boroughs, and are available to teach 3 days/week.
