Job summary

ReNEW Schools is seeking a part-time Substitute Teacher to temporarily take over classroom instruction and management in the absence of the regular teacher. You will maintain an inclusive classroom atmosphere and support students’ progress across various grade levels and subjects.

Responsibilities include delivering lessons, managing behavior, supervising students, and ensuring safety. You will adapt to different environments and report incidents to administration as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pass applicable background check
• Experience with students or childcare preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction according to lesson plans left by the classroom teacher.
• Manage classroom behavior in alignment with school policies and expectations.
• Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, playground, and other assigned areas.
• Maintain a respectful and inclusive environment for all learners.
• Adapt to different grade levels, subject areas, and instructional needs as assigned.
• Record attendance and report any incidents, concerns, or issues to school administration.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administrators.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Substitute teacher temporarily takes over classroom instruction and management in the absence of the regular teacher. They maintain an inclusive classroom atmosphere, and support students’ educational progress across various grade levels and subjects. Substitute teachers may be contacted for same-day, short-term, or long-term assignments, depending on school needs. This is a part-time position, and Substitutes are utilized on an as-needed basis.
