Job Description

Union Gap School District is seeking a Substitute Teacher to join our team. The substitute will be responsible for following lesson plans, maintaining a positive learning environment, and performing duties as assigned by the regular teacher and building principal.

Directly Responsible To: Building Principal

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Washington State teaching certificate
• Previous substitute teaching experience preferred but not required

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Implement lesson plans and instructions provided by the regular teacher
• Take responsibility for assigned duties
• Adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Create a safe, positive classroom environment
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders
• Complete necessary paperwork promptly
• Perform other duties as assigned
