Description: Substitute Teaching Position for our Pre-k - 8th Grade Elementary School District

Qualifications: Certified

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in classroom and/or group environments involving children

2024-2025 SY

Day-to-Day Substitute Rate: $150.00 per day

Cadre' Substitute Rate: $180 per day

Long-Term Substitute Rate: $250.00 per day (Includes signed substitute contract and upon board approval)

Non-Certified Substitute (Paraprofessional Substitute) Rate: $125 per day

Application Procedure

Step 1: All applicants must fill out an online application with District 159.

Step 2: You may click the underlined link to contact and visit the website for the South Cook Intermediate Service Center located at 253 West Joe Orr Road, Chicago Heights, IL 60411 to complete their substitute registration process for Region 7 (ROE 7) if you have not completed it. You may also contact them at 708-754-6600 for detailed information. Once the process has been completed, you should receive the official documentation from South Cook Intermediate Center that validates your substitute credentials for ROE 7.

Step 3: Please call and make an appointment with our office - ESD 159 (see address below) to bring the official document that you received to validate your substitute credentials and to register to substitute teach within our district. Our office hours are from 8:00am - 4:00pm. Additionally, if you have any questions, please call us at 708-720-1300.
