Overview

As a Substitute Teacher with Grades 9-12 (Secondary) division of Stellar Virtual’s Texas-based online schools, you will play a vital role in ensuring continuity in our virtual learning environment when regular instructors are unavailable. This position will deliver engaging and effective online instruction, follow established lesson plans, and maintain a positive and supportive virtual classroom atmosphere.

Essential Duties

• Step in as a substitute instructor for virtual classes when regular teachers are absent.
• Review and follow provided lesson plans, to ensure a smooth continuation of learning.
• Deliver live or pre-recorded virtual lessons using the designated platform and tools.
• Provide clear instructions, explanations, and feedback to students in a supportive manner.
• Facilitate class discussions, answer questions, and encourage student engagement.
• Manage virtual classroom behavior and maintain a positive and respectful learning environment.
• Assess and evaluate student work, providing timely feedback to promote academic growth.
• Collaborate with the Academic team to ensure seamless integration of substitute teaching.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff as needed.
• Follow school policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

• Strong technology skills and the ability to navigate various educational software.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with students effectively.

• Strong classroom management skills to maintain a positive and orderly environment.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students' learning and growth.
  
  

Education & Certification Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• A valid, unrestricted Texas teaching certificate is required. All teaching certificates must remain active and be renewed timely to maintain active employment and not set to expire in the next 90 days.
