Job summary

KERRVILLE ISD is seeking a substitute teacher to provide students with learning activities and supervision when the regular teacher is absent. You will implement lesson plans, monitor behavior, and create a safe, productive classroom environment.

Responsibilities include attendance submission, acting as a positive role model, and adhering to district procedures, student conduct codes, and safety protocols. Training and timely communication with staff and parents are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Submit attendance reports.
• Be a positive role model for students.
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for development.

• Leave notes or complete the substitute teacher report form at day’s end.
• Report accidents or incidents.
• Communicate in a friendly and positive manner with students, parents, staff, and administrators.
• Participate in substitute training and activities to improve job-related skills.
• Comply with all state, district, and school regulations and policies for teachers.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Primary Purpose

Provide students with appropriate learning activities, instruction, and supervision by implementing the lesson plans as directed by the absent teacher, principal, or other responsible staff.

• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintain a clean and orderly classroom and follow the classroom and school procedures as directed by the school.
• Leave notes or complete the approved substitute teacher report form at the end of the teaching day.
• Report any accidents or incidents.
• Communicate in a friendly and positive manner towards students, parents, staff, and administrators.
• Participate in substitute training and activities to improve job-related skills.
• Comply with all state, district, and school regulations and policies for teachers.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

SALARY

• $135 daily - Certified Teacher
• $120 daily - Degreed
• $110 daily - Non Degreed
