• Must obtain and pass background check with NYSED.

Responsibilities

• Follow established routines and procedures during the regular teacher's absence.
• Maintain order and discipline in the classroom, ensuring a safe learning environment.
• Receive prepared lesson plans and facilitate classroom activities and discussions.
• Adapt instructional programs to meet individual student needs and abilities.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms and playgrounds.
• Communicate classroom activities and issues to the absent teacher.
• Attend meetings and serve on staff committees as appropriate.
