Job summary

Global Educational Excellence (GEE) is seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide temporary instructional coverage in the absence of regular classroom teachers, ensuring continuity of curriculum delivery and a safe, structured learning environment at our Southeast Michigan campuses.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, or completion of at least 60 college credits, and compliance with Michigan Department of Education substitute requirements, plus a satisfactory criminal background

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Michigan Department of Education (MDE) requirements for substitute teachers: valid Michigan teaching certificate, OR completion of at least 60 credit hours from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Satisfactory criminal background check is required.

Responsibilities

• Execute lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher; maintain continuity of instruction.
• Maintain classroom management and foster a positive, productive learning environment.
• Take attendance and communicate with the main office as required.
• Implement school policies and procedures; ensure student safety at all times.
• Leave a brief summary for the regular teacher regarding classroom activities and any concerns.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for extended periods. Work environment includes elevated noise levels.
