Job summary

Global Educational Excellence (GEE) seeks a dedicated Substitute Teacher to provide temporary instructional coverage, ensuring continuity of curriculum delivery and a safe, structured learning environment for students in Southeast Michigan.

You will execute lesson plans, maintain classroom management, take attendance, and communicate with the main office as required, while upholding school policies. This is a non-benefits, part-time/as-needed role serving Southeast Michigan schools.

Qualifications

• Must have a High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet Michigan Department of Education requirements for substitute teachers: valid Michigan teaching certificate, OR completion of at least 60 credit hours from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Satisfactory criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Execute lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher; maintain continuity of instruction
• Maintain classroom management and foster a positive, productive learning environment
• Take attendance and communicate with the main office as required
• Implement school policies and procedures; ensure student safety at all times
• Leave a brief summary for the regular teacher regarding classroom activities and any concerns

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must meet Michigan Department of Education (MDE) requirements for substitute teachers: valid Michigan teaching certificate, OR completion of at least 60 credit hours from a regionally accredited college or university

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for extended periods. Work environment includes elevated noise levels.
