Job summary

InspireNOLA Charter Schools is seeking passionate, dedicated part-time substitute teachers to cover for absent teachers in New Orleans classrooms.

The role requires commitment to student growth and the ability to deliver instruction using provided plans, with emphasis on classroom management and collaboration with school teams. The network operates seven public charter schools and values diversity, with an hourly wage of $15.00 per hour for substitute work. Spanish language proficiency is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of teaching experience (preferred)
• No certification is required but preference is given to those eligible for, or in possession of, Louisiana teaching certificate
• Familiar with content area and strong classroom management skills
• Demonstrate knowledge of the principles and methodologies of effective teaching

Responsibilities

• Teaches content and skills in subject area utilizing designated curriculum.
• Execute lesson plans and supplementary materials provided upon arrival.
• Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to each student/subgroups.
• Prepares report cards and maintains attendance records as necessary under supervision.
• Maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly classroom environment.
• Identifies student needs and collaborates with staff to help students.
• Supervises students during assigned activities.
• Exemplifies InspireNOLA’s core values in interactions with students and families.

Position Summary

InspireNOLA Charter Schools is seeking passionate, talented, and dedicated part-time substitute teachers. The part-time substitute teacher is responsible for providing classroom coverage for a teacher who is absent. The part-time substitute teacher works the regular hours of the absent classroom teacher during his/her absence. We are pursuing candidates who are committed to the intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth of our students.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Teaches content and skills in subject area utilizing designated curriculum.
• Execute lesson plans and supplementary materials provided upon arrival.
• Provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students.
• Prepares report cards, keeps appropriate and accurate records to include attendance reports, interims, and other recordkeeping activities as necessary under the supervision of the administrative team.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
• Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students.
• Supervises students in assigned out-of-classroom activities during the working day.
• Exemplify InspireNOLA’s core values in all interactions with students and their families to demonstrate your commitment to students’ academic and behavioral success.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Compensation & Benefits

Part-time substitute teachers are part-time employees and are paid an hourly wage of $15.00/hour.
