Job summary

ESS is seeking a Substitute Special Education Teacher to join our team in Waterbury, CT. The role involves assisting with classroom instruction in the absence of a regular teacher and following and teaching lesson plans within K-12 settings.

The candidate will review and implement routines, maintain a safe classroom, and report injuries or discipline issues to administration. Flexible schedules and professional development opportunities accompany this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• Background checks including CT/FBI clearance required.
• Clearance for DCF Child Abuse and Neglect Registry.
• Education Employment Verification – Act 16-67 required.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent.
• Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration.
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration.
