Job summary

Plainfield 202 is seeking a Substitute Paraprofessional (Non-Certified) to assist students across classroom, lunch, and recess. The position runs 8:30–4:00 with compensation of $120 per full-day assignment and likely start window in May 2026.

Qualifications include an Illinois paraprofessional certificate or substitute teaching certificate or Professional Educators License, or an associate degree (or 60 college hours; ACT Work Keys; ParaPro).

Qualifications:

• Current State of Illinois Paraprofessional Certificate or Substitute Teaching Certificate or Professional Educators License registered in Will County/Region 56
• Associates Degree or higher; or 60 hours of college coursework; or ACT Work Keys; or ETC ParaPro Test

OR

• Current State of Illinois Paraprofessional Approval
• High School Diploma

Job Description:

• Assist students across school settings (classroom, lunch, recess, restroom) if necessary
• Frequent walking, standing, and sitting
• Monitor student behavior
• Leaves notes for the regular paraprofessional at the end of the teaching day
• Communicate in a friendly and positive manner towards parents, students, and administrators
• Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Ensure the safety of students at all times
