Job summary

District-Wide in Herscher, Illinois seeks a Substitute School Nurse (RN/LPN/CSN preferred) to support student health services. Flexible hours are to be determined with the candidate; the position reports to the Building Principal and Superintendent.

Qualifications

• Must have RN, LPN or CSN certification.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Detailed-oriented with ability to maintain good working relationships with staff, students and guardians.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cumulative health files for each student.
• Ensure district health regulations and immunization policies are followed.
• Carry out vision and hearing screenings and follow-up on deviations.
• Dispense medicines and manage field-trip medications.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with EMS as needed.
• Collaborate with administrators, staff, medical advisors, and families on health plans.
