Mascenic Regional School Administrative Unit is seeking a Substitute School Nurse to support student health needs in the Mascenic Regional School District. The nurse will assess health concerns, provide first aid, and coordinate care with families and healthcare providers.

The role includes developing health plans, conducting screenings, and ensuring compliance with immunization and health policies within the school setting.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or related science area with coursework in health assessment and school health.
• Master's degree in related field preferred.
• Must meet qualifications of a school nurse as defined in state regulations.
• Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in a school setting.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with health care providers, students, parents, school district staff and community agencies to ensure access and continuity of care.
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive school health program.
• Collect information about health development status of students for immunization compliance.
• Conduct immunization programs, physical examinations, and sight/hearing testing.
• Perform nursing assessment for ill or injured students and provide first aid and referrals.
• Maintain accurate records in line with state and federal law.
• Develop individual health care plans (ICHP) when needed for IEPs.
• Intervene to promote, maintain or restore health and prevent illness.
• Serve on school teams (Crisis Teams, PPT, Section 504).
• Provide health education to students, parents and employees.
