Jamestown Public School District is seeking Substitute Custodians to work as needed, maintaining an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff and visitors. Duties include cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms and common areas, plus basic facility upkeep to support daily operations and events. Starting wage is $17.69/hr.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic cleaning practices and facility care.
• Ability to lift and move 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with administrators, custodians, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all assigned areas of the school, ensuring interior and exterior spaces remain free of debris.
• Vacuum, shampoo, sweep, mop, wax, polish, and scrub floors as needed; ensure proper care of carpet, tile, and wood surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and shower rooms; restock supplies and maintain dispensing units.
• Clean windows, walls, sinks, desks, water fountains, handrails, blinds, and similar surfaces.
• Clean chalkboards, marker boards, and trays daily.
• Pick up litter inside and outside the building; empty and clean trash receptacles.
