Qualifications

  • Must pass a criminal background check and DHS Child Maltreatment Registry check.
  • Must successfully complete a bus driver physical and pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the bus in a safe manner, ensuring care for the bus and passengers at all times.
  • Start the route on time to ensure on-time arrivals at schools.
  • Do not change the route without proper authorization from the supervisor.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections and student checks before and after routes.
  • Maintain student discipline on the bus and keep the bus clean.
  • Driver must wear a seat belt at all times.
  • Do not allow students off the bus without an approved stop or written campus note.
  • Do not move the bus until all students are seated and facing forward.
  • Assume all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate the bus in such a manner that proper care is given the bus and passengers at all times.
  • Starttheroute on time so that you will operate the bus at a safe speed and arrive at school on time.
  • Does not changetheroute without proper authorization from thesupervisor.
  • Drivers are to perform a pre-trip inspection and student check before and after each route.
  • Maintain student discipline onthebus.
  • Keepthebus clean.
  • Driver must wear seat belt at all times.
  • Does not allow students off the bus unless at an approved stop, or without a written note from thecampusoffice.
  • Does not move the bus until all students are seated and facing forward.
  • All other duties assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. In case of an emergency the employee must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and push or pull up to 100 lbs.
