Job summary

Gentry Public Schools seeks a Substitute School Bus Route Driver in Gentry, Arkansas to operate and manage daily routes with safety as a priority. Immediate start with a focus on reliable service and student safety.

Applicants must hold a Class B CDL with school bus endorsement and pass required checks and screenings; pre-employment drug test required. This is a part-time position supporting our transportation team.

Qualifications

• Current Class B CDL with school bus endorsement, air brake endorsement, and passenger endorsement, or willingness to obtain one prior to start date.
• Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check as well as a DHS Child Maltreatment Registry check.
• Must pass a bus driver physical and pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate the bus in a manner that ensures safety for bus and passengers at all times.
• Start the route on time and ensure the bus travels at a safe speed and arrives at school on time.
• Do not change route without authorization from the supervisor.
• Perform pre-trip inspection and student check before and after each route.
• Maintain student discipline on the bus.
• Keep the bus clean.
• Driver must wear seat belt at all times.
• Do not allow students off the bus unless at an approved stop.
