Job summary

Cheney Public School District 360 Transportation is seeking a Substitute School Bus Driver in Cheney, Washington. The role covers variable routes Monday through Friday during the school year, with pay of $23.11 per hour and positions classified as substitute staff.

Applicants must be 22+, hold a WA driver’s license with five years’ experience, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and pass background checks. Benefits begin after 630 hours, including SEBB medical/dental/vision coverage.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 22 years old.
• Must possess valid Washington State driver’s license with five years experience as a licensed driver.
• Must have a high school education or the equivalent.
• WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance.
• Current first aid/CPR card (training may be provided by District)
• Application will require three references.

Responsibilities

• Know, understand and apply practices of School Bus Driver Handbook.
• Drive buses on regularly scheduled routes or on field trips or activity trips.
• Fuel and clean bus.
• Maintain control over passengers as related to safety.
• Participate in bus driver training courses.
• Must be able to perform Cheney School District pre and post-trip inspections.
• Keep supervisor informed as to condition of bus and accidents.
• Report any accident or law infraction to director immediately.
