The role is part‑time with training rates and contracted driver pay. Candidates must pass background checks, hold CDL Class B with endorsements, and complete required safety trainings within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must pass a background check including fingerprinting.
• Must possess CDL Class B with passenger endorsement and school bus endorsement.
• Must pass a basic skills test and be First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.
• Must complete Safe Schools Web-Based Training within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
• Must have at least two supervisory references.
• Must be able to pass a yearly bus evacuation drill and meet physical requirements.
• Must demonstrate command of English for verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Transport students and authorized persons on regular routes and trips.
• Operate a school bus on scheduled routes and trips.
• Maintain and update route sheets and communicate changes to dispatch.
• Service, inspect, and clean school buses and related equipment.
• Operate safely in all weather conditions.
• Maintain control of student passengers and report unsafe acts.
• Complete required forms, records, and reports as specified by policies.
• Comply with Kennewick School District policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as directed by management.
