Job summary

Liverpool Central School District is seeking Substitute School Bus Attendants to support safe student transportation across its district. Responsibilities include helping students board and exit buses, monitoring behavior, and assisting students with disabilities when needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and are able to work collaboratively with bus drivers, school staff, and parents. Background checks and drug screenings are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with bus drivers, school staff, and parents.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must pass all required background checks and drug screenings.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in safely boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring secure seating and proper use of seat belts and harnesses.
• Monitor student behavior during transport, maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
• Provide support to students with disabilities or special needs, including securing wheelchairs and mobility devices as required.
• Communicate effectively with the school bus driver and transportation staff regarding student concerns or incidents.
• Maintain order and follow district policies regarding student conduct and safety.
• Assist in emergency evacuation procedures and respond appropriately in case of emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor.
