Job summary

Louisa-Muscatine Elementary is seeking Substitute Paraeducators to work with elementary, SPED and/or Junior High/High School students. An Associate's Degree or higher, a paraeducator authorization issued by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners or a National Career Readiness Certificate is preferred, but not required.

Mandatory Reporter and First Aid Seizure Training is required and will be provided by the District. This position starts at $14 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or higher preferred.
• Paraeducator authorization (Iowa) preferred but not required.
• Mandatory Reporter and First Aid Seizure Training required and provided by the District.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality, attendance, and flexibility while supporting the teacher.
• Tutor students individually or in small groups as assigned by the teacher.
• Reinforce and review concepts and skills.
• Assist teachers with assessment, curriculum implementation, student interactions, and safety.
• Document student progress and behavior to inform education plans.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, and large group activities.
• Follow district safety and restraint procedures when needed.
• Promote a positive image of the district.
