Qualifications

• Minimum of 48 college credits; or Passed the Para Pro test.
• Experience working with children; in an educational setting preferred.
• Experience with and/or the ability to become CPI trained if necessary.
• Experience working with children with Special Education services preferred.
• Passion to work with school aged children.

Responsibilities

• Support instructors by assisting students in learning across content areas in various group settings.
• Assist students with self-regulation and behavior management to maximize learning.
• Provide sensory support per student plans and sensory breaks as needed.
• Assist and support student communication using assistive technology.
• Support student transitions between arrival, subjects, and activities.
• Help develop social, emotional, and behavioral skills individually or in groups.
• Review IEPs to ensure needs are understood when needed.
• Provide personal care assistance as required (toileting, feeding, etc.).
• Perform other duties as directed by administration.
