Job summary

Westside Community Schools District Wide in Omaha, NE is seeking a Substitute Nutrition Service Worker to support the Nutrition Services Department. The role is part-time with less than 20 hours per week and requires flexibility for on-call shifts.

Duties include food prep, serving, dish washing, and kitchen cleaning while collaborating with staff, students, and community. Experience in food service is preferred, ServSafe certification is desirable, and training will be provided to qualified

POSITION: SUBSTITUTE NUTRITION SERVICE WORKER

DEPARTMENT : Nutrition Services

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position requires work availability on a call-in basis, less than 20 hours per week. Nutrition Service leadership will give as much notice as possible. Multiple tasks Include but are not limited to:

• Food Prep and serving
• Dish Washing
• Cleaning of kitchen and equipment as required
• Be able to carry cases of food, beverages, paper goods and prepared food
• Be able to use all kitchen equipment necessary for preparation of food
• Ability to work with school staff, students and community
• Other duties as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required*

• Ability to communicate well with others

• Knowledge and ability of cleaning kitchen and preparation of food

Preferred

• Experience in a food service environment
• ServSafe Food Handlers Certification
• Knowledge and understanding of the Federal School Breakfast and Lunch Program requirements and regulations including:
• Offer vs. Serve
• Qualifications for a reimbursable meal
• Knowledge of portion sizes and proper kitchen procedures
