Job summary

Westside Community Schools District Wide is seeking a Substitute Nutrition Service Worker in Omaha, NE. The role is on a call-in basis, less than 20 hours weekly, with potential duties across food prep, serving, dishwashing and kitchen cleanliness.

Training will be provided; ServSafe certification preferred. Ideal candidates communicate well, follow directions from the Kitchen Manager, and support staff, students, and the community.

POSITION: SUBSTITUTE NUTRITION SERVICE WORKER

DEPARTMENT : Nutrition Services

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position requires work availability on a call-in basis, less than 20 hours per week. Nutrition Service leadership will give as much notice as possible. Multiple tasks Include but are not limited to:

• Food Prep and serving
• Dish Washing
• Cleaning of kitchen and equipment as required
• Be able to carry cases of food, beverages, paper goods and prepared food
• Be able to use all kitchen equipment necessary for preparation of food
• Ability to work with school staff, students and community
• Other duties as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required*

• Ability to communicate well with others
• Ability to take direction from Kitchen Manager
• Knowledge and ability of cleaning kitchen and preparation of food

Preferred

• Experience in a food service environment
• ServSafe Food Handlers Certification
• Knowledge and understanding of the Federal School Breakfast and Lunch Program requirements and regulations including:
• Offer vs. Serve
• Qualifications for a reimbursable meal
• Knowledge of portion sizes and proper kitchen procedures
