DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITITES:
Provide general nursing care to students and staff.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
Keep daily medical records of students.
Communicate with parents/guardians concerning daily health concerns and visits to nurse.
Supervise the dispensing of prescriptions to students.
Observe patients and report adverse reactions to medication or treatment.
Treat minor wounds and abrasions.
Serve as a resource person on health issues.
Provide follow-up evaluations on students as required.
Administer care including, but not limited to, calculating diabetic formulas; administering insulin; documenting seizure activity; tube feeding administration and care; and being able to identify different childhood illnesses.
Inform staff of any health concern that will need additional care with the school building but outside the nurse's office.
Perform other duties as assigned by the building Principal, Nurse Coordinator, or Director of Student Services
