Job summary

Cushing Academy seeks a Health Services Nurse to provide professional health care to students and coordinate ongoing care with allied professionals. The role applies nursing theory and follows the school's mission while using a systematic approach to problem-solving.

You will educate students with and without special needs, assess students, plan and deliver care, evaluate outcomes, and communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an Accredited Nursing Program.
• Current LPN or RN license within the state of Massachusetts.
• Current BLS certification with updates annually.
• Experience in triage process and outpatient health setting.
• Ability to communicate well with students, parents, and fellow professionals.
• Keen analytical skills and a detail-oriented work style.
• Clinical experience with adolescent health preferred.

The substitute position does not require a minimum number of hours per month.

The pay rate will be determined based on years of experience. Shift differentials are not provided.

The Health Services Nurse provides professional health care to students and coordinates continued health care with allied healthcare professionals. Applies appropriate theory from nursing and associated areas to meet and uphold the school's mission statement. Uses a systematic approach to problem-solving in nursing practice. Contributes to the education of students with and without special needs by continuous assessment of the student, planning and providing appropriate nursing care, and evaluating outcomes of care. Uses effective written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills. Maintains a comprehensive school health program as established by the Director of Health & Wellness. Assists students, families, and the school community to achieve optimal levels of wellness through appropriately designed and delivered health education. Promotes quality of care, pursues continued professional enhancement, and demonstrates professional conduct.

Requirements
