Job summary

Middleborough Public Schools is seeking a dedicated School Nurse to promote student health and support academic success in the Middleborough community. The nurse will provide care for students and staff, maintain health records, and coordinate health education with school policies.

The role requires Massachusetts Registered Nurse licensure, ongoing professional development, and the ability to work under the School Nurse Leader's supervision to deliver high-quality nursing services.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Experience in school health care preferred.
• Ability to maintain electronic health records.

Responsibilities

• Performs school nursing services under the supervision of the School Nurse Leader consistent with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health guidelines in addition to the local school district policy.
• Provides assessment and medical care for students and staff in the case of injury or illness as needed.
• Maintains appropriate documentation including electronic school health records, daily logs, medication administration, accident/incident report, and special needs encounters.
• Integrates health education in daily practice.
• Identifies the needs of students and staff and teaches health promotion and disease prevention as needed. Provides health education and counseling on an individual basis as needed to students, staff, and parents.
• Demonstrates and applies current nursing knowledge in school practice.
• Participates in ongoing professional development to maintain Massachusetts Registered Nurse License.
