Job summary

Alvin ISD is seeking a Substitute Nurse to provide health services to students in the absence of the regular campus nurse. The role supports student success by promoting the health and well‑being of students, staff, and the school community.

Responsibilities include administering medications, maintaining health records, communicating with families and staff, and consulting with Lead Nurses as needed. Valid RN or LVN license and CPR certification required; school nursing experience is welcome but

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) License.
• Valid CPR Certification.

Special Knowledge / Skills

• Effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Practical knowledge of nursing procedures and techniques relevant to children.
• Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while following district policies and procedures.

Experience

• School nursing experience preferred but not required.
• Training will be provided.
