Job summary

Growing Futures Early Education Center in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Substitute Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team. You will assist with meal preparation, deliver food to classrooms, and help with cleanup after meals.

Hours are Monday through Friday during the week, with duties including stocking supplies, delivering meals from the central kitchen, and maintaining sanitation standards in a commercial kitchen.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Assemble food, dishes, carts, utensils and supplies for timely meal prep and delivery.
• Deliver meals from the central kitchen to classrooms as assigned.
• Assist with cleanup and dishwashing following sanitation and safety procedures.
• Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment.

Growing Futures Early Education Center is an early childhood program serving children birth-five. We are hiring a Substitute Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team! Hours for this position will be during the week Monday - Friday. This position will assist when the kitchen staff is short due to illness or other positions are away on approved time off.

As the Substitute Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare food provided by a third party vendor, deliver food to appropriate classrooms, and assist with clean up after meal service. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assemble food, dishes, food carts, utensils and other necessary supplies needed for timely meal preparation and delivery to classrooms.
• Deliver meals from the central kitchen to appropriate classrooms, as assigned.
• Assist with clean up and wash dishes adhering to sanitation and safety procedures prescribed for a commercial kitchen.
• Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment.
