Job summary

Growing Futures Early Education Center in Overland Park, KS is hiring a Substitute Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team. The role supports daily meal service by preparing food from a central vendor, delivering meals to classrooms, and helping with cleanup.

Hours are Monday through Friday, and the substitute may fill in when staff are out. A high school diploma or equivalent and prior kitchen experience are preferred to ensure sanitary, efficient operations in our early education setting.

Growing Futures Early Education Center is an early childhood program serving children birth-five. We are hiring a Substitute Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team! Hours for this position will be during the week Monday - Friday. This position will assist when the kitchen staff is short due to illness or other positions are away on approved time off.

As the Substitute Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare food provided by a third party vendor, deliver food to appropriate classrooms, and assist with clean up after meal service. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assemble food, dishes, food carts, utensils and other necessary supplies needed for timely meal preparation and delivery to classrooms.
• Deliver meals from the central kitchen to appropriate classrooms, as assigned.
• Assist with clean up and wash dishes adhering to sanitation and safety procedures prescribed for a commercial kitchen.
• Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment.
