Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable Substitute Kitchen Helper to support our school food service program on an as-needed basis at Garretson School District. You'll assist with food preparation, serving students, and keeping a clean, organized kitchen.

This flexible role fits someone who enjoys variety, works well with different teams, and values providing healthy meals. Schedule is Monday–Friday daytime, on-site responsibilities, and adherence to safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Fill in at school kitchens when team members are out to maintain uninterrupted meal service.
• Help prep and serve menu items; keep station stocked and follow serving guidelines.
• Follow simple recipes and maintain clean storage areas using FIFO.
• Maintain food safety by following steps, logs, and production records; keep workspace safe.
• Communicate supply needs and updates to the team and supervisors.
• Stock and serve items during meal service and assist with prep lists and freezer pulls.
• Adapt to different school locations and kitchen environments as needed.
• Jump in to help teammates or train new staff when needed.

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable, team‑focused Substitute Kitchen Helper to support our school food service program on an as‑needed basis. In this role, you'll step in when regular team members are absent, helping keep meal service running smoothly by assisting with food preparation, serving students, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. This is a flexible role that's perfect for someone who enjoys variety, working with different teams, and making a positive impact on students' day.

What You’ll Do

• Fill in at school kitchens when team members are out, helping ensure meal service continues without interruption.
• Help prep and serve menu items, keep your station stocked, and follow serving‑size and special‑diet guidelines.
• Follow simple recipes like fruit and veggie bars or baked goods while keeping kitchen, storage areas, and equipment clean and organized using FIFO.
• Maintain food safety and compliance by following food‑safety steps, completing basic logs, assisting with production records, and helping maintain a safe workspace.
• Communicate supply needs, feedback, and updates to your team and supervisors.
• Stock and serve items during meal service and help with prep lists and freezer pulls.
• Adapt to different school locations, teams, and kitchen environments as needed.
• Jump in where needed from helping teammates, training new team members, and assisting when someone is out.
