Job summary

Unalaska City School District is seeking a substitute to provide services to intensive needs students based on their Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED, and experience with special needs is preferred.

Bilingual in Yup’ik and English is advantageous, as well as a willingness to participate in training. Duties include assisting with lessons, supervising students, and maintaining positive relationships.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual in Yup’ik and English preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working with special needs in a school setting preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with lessons planned by the teacher.
• Set up and operate equipment required by specific students.
• Supervise students during various activities such as lunch and field trips.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards as expected of teachers.
