San Juan Unified School District seeks a Substitute Instructional Assistant III to support students across multiple sites. The role requires flexibility to work part-time hours, assist teachers in instructional activities, and adapt to diverse classroom settings.

Candidates must meet state exam requirements (Proficiency Exam and CBEST), provide college transcripts and an AA degree, and be willing to get a CA Class C driver license if needed; training in non-violent intervention and ED/ASD

Qualifications

Passing score on San Juan IA Proficiency Exam (date must be April 2005 to present).
Official CBEST passing score.
Official transcripts showing two years of college (48 sem/60 quarter units).
Proof of an AA degree (or higher).
Foreign degrees/transcripts must be evaluated for US equivalency.
Passing IA Proficiency Test or CBEST is required.

Responsibilities

Aides must be willing to work with difficult students.
Must be willing to work in Emotionally Disturbed (ED) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) classrooms.
Willingness to obtain a California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license.
Willingness to be trained in and use non-violent intervention, behavior intervention, and physical restraint techniques.
