Job summary

Fleming County Schools in Flemingsburg, KY is seeking a Substitute Instructional Assistant (Classified) to work across classrooms as a temporary substitute.

Under the supervision of the Principal and Human Resources Director, you will help deliver instructional activities, supervise students, and assist with materials and records while maintaining FERPA confidentiality.

This position is daily contracted and pays an hourly rate determined by the board; starting date is immediate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of 48 college hours OR passing Kentucky Paraeducator Exam.
• Basic ability to support classroom instruction.

Responsibilities

• Implement instructional techniques and learning activities as directed.
• Participate as an integral member of the remediation instructional team.
• Prepare and organize materials and equipment for instruction and instruct pupils individually or in small groups in the classroom or a pull-out setting.
• Operate and care for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes.
• Distribute instructional materials for instruction.
• Assist with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, recess play periods, lunch, field trips, etc.
• Assist with the documentation of pupil progress on a continuous basis.
• Maintain confidentiality as defined by FERPA.
• Demonstrate the ability to adapt to circumstances.
• Exhibit good judgment and use appropriate language or behavior while on assignment.
• Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal/supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Terms of Employment:
