  • The teacher will differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, integrate technology effectively, and use assessment data to inform instructional decisions and support student achievement.
  • In addition to classroom instruction, the teacher will assess student progress, maintain accurate records, communicate with parents and guardians as needed, and collaborate with colleagues to support the overall success of students and the mathematics program.
  • The teacher will receive assistance from the Director of Mathematics for guidance, support, and professional collaboration to ensure the implementation of best practices in curriculum delivery and instruction.

Position Description

The Denver Academy teacher is responsible for executing Denver Academy’s mission of inspiring and empowering diverse learners through student-centered, differentiated, and transformative education. This includes oversight and responsibility for students, program, and day-to-day operations in the classroom. The teacher is also responsible for communicating with parents and acting as a liaison with other division classrooms and the rest of the DA community.

Additional Teaching Responsibilities
Teaching
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful learning environment.
  • Design and implement effective, differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Collaborate with Deans, Division Heads, and Program Team members to ensure the successful delivery of the Denver Academy program and curriculum.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to support student engagement and achievement.
  • Remain current with Denver Academy programs, curriculum, and instructional practices.
Management
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and guardians.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records using the school's electronic systems.
  • Administer assessments and utilize assessment data to support student learning.
Leadership
  • Model professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in all interactions.
  • Positively represent and support the Denver Academy community.
  • Demonstrate and promote effective conflict-resolution skills.
  • Foster a culture of respect, responsibility, and collaboration among students and colleagues.
