The Denver Academy teacher is responsible for executing Denver Academy’s mission of inspiring and empowering diverse learners through student-centered, differentiated, and transformative education. This includes oversight and responsibility for students, program, and day-to-day operations in the classroom. The teacher is also responsible for communicating with parents and acting as a liaison with other division classrooms and the rest of the DA community.
The High School substitute Mathematics Teacher is responsible for teaching up to five sections of high school mathematics, which may include, Geometry, and Algebra II, and designing and delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction that fosters mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and critical thinking. The teacher will differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, integrate technology effectively, and use assessment data to inform instructional decisions and support student achievement.
In addition to classroom instruction, the teacher will assess student progress, maintain accurate records, communicate with parents and guardians as needed, and collaborate with colleagues to support the overall success of students and the mathematics program. The teacher will receive assistance from the Director of Mathematics for guidance, support, and professional collaboration to ensure the implementation of best practices in curriculum delivery and instruction.
