The Louisville Rec Center is seeking experienced Substitute Fitness Instructors to lead group classes and promote healthy lifestyles under the supervision of the Recreation Superintendent.
Candidates must hold current group fitness certification (AFAA, NETA, ACE or equivalent), CPR/First Aid, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and pass any required background checks; duties include warm-ups, safe instruction, class content development, and timely time-sheet submission.

This position is under the supervision of the Recreation Superintendent and will perform duties related to instructing and leading individuals in fitness and recreational activities. Programs include, but are not limited to:
The goal of the Fitness Instructor is to affect positive change in people's lifestyles through exercise and wellness education.
Work will be performed in an indoor environment which often includes exposure to loud noise levels.
Candidates may be required to complete and pass a pre-placement physical, substance screen, and/or a background investigation prior to employment.
Work requires bending and standing for long periods of time. Work is considered very physical. Frequently reaching, sitting, lifting, jumping, running, pushing, pulling, walking and requires the use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Requires physically exerting activity. Required to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to see, hear, and verbally communicate effectively. Required to speak loudly for participants to hear in a noisy environment.
