Job summary

Eden Autism Services is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide support to adults in our group homes and day programs in New Jersey. We offer per diem, full-time and part-time schedules with paid training, flexible shifts, and teamwork-focused environments.

Ideal candidates are 18+, HS diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and ability to assist with daily living skills. Experience with autism is a plus but not required; PCM certification and MS Office/iPad comfort are also valued.

Qualifications

• Age 19 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record and 3 years driving experience.
• Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• PCM certification and use of Microsoft Office and iPad experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of those we support at all times.

• Assist with shopping, leisure, and doctor visits.
• Drive participants to group homes and day centers.

Eden Autism Services is now hiring Full-Time, and Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide support to adults in our group homes and day programs.

Experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is an advantage, but it’s not a requirement! We provide paid training and you will be working with others as a team. Eden offers a variety of schedules—our employees find this flexibility perfect for their busy lives!

There will be 2 weeks of PAID TRAINING 8:00 am – 4:00 pm for the positions working in Adult Services. The Training covers many topics such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methods of teaching, Professional Crisis Management (PCM), CPR, and much more!! The Training is mandatory before you can start working in Program.

Our day centers are located in Hamilton, Plainsboro, and West Windsor.

The Day Program schedule is Monday-Friday 8am – 4pm.

Our group homes and supervised apartments are located in Mercer and Middlesex Counties.

Our Residential Program offers a variety of Full-Time and Part-Time schedules including Weekend Day, Awake Overnights; “3-day-on / 3-day-off” rotating schedules, and more! Our Hiring Managers will review available schedules upon interview.

• Weekend Days (Part-Time) in Plainsboro Saturday/Sunday 8:30 am - 8:30 pm both days
• Weekend Days (Part-Time) in Princeton Saturday/Sunday 8:30 am - 8:30 pm both days
• Weekend Days (Part-Time) in Hamilton Saturday/Sunday 8:30 am - 8:30 pm both days
• Weekend Days (Part-Time) in Robbinsville Saturday/Sunday 8:30 am - 8:30 pm both days
• Weekend Days (Part-Time) in West Windsor Saturday 9:00 am - 11 pm, Sunday 9:00 am - 8:30 pm
• Weekend Days Saturday and Sunday + Thursday/Friday (Full-Time) in Robbinsville, NJ
• Wednesday-Saturday Days (Full-Time) in Plainsboro and 2 openings in Robbinsville, NJ
• Thursday-Saturday Days (Part-Time) in West Windsor, NJ
• Thursday-Sunday Days (Full-Time) in Lawrenceville, NJ
• 3 Days ON 3 Days Off Rotation with sleep overnights (Full-Time) in West Windsor, NJ
• 3 Days ON 3 Days Off Rotation without sleep overnights (Full-Time) in Robbinsville, NJ
• 3 Nights ON 3 Nights off Rotation Awake Overnight (3rd shift) in Lawrenceville and Robbinsville, NJ

As a DSP for Eden, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring the safety of those we support at all times.
• Teaching individuals we support basic life skills, such as cooking, laundry and cleaning, and personal hygiene. You may work on employment skills and go out to work sites to support the participants.
• Assisting with daily activities including shopping, leisure and recreational activities, and visits to the doctor.
• Driving participants to and from our group homes and day centers, and around the community.
• Tracking the growth of individuals as they learn new skills, and providing related information to supervisors.
• Communicating with family members, colleagues, and supervisors, and completing required reports.

Qualifications:

• 19 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Valid driver's license with record in good standing (5 points or less) + 3 years of driving experience
• Ability to meet physical requirements including to:
  • Lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
  • Sit, stand, bend, squat, kneel, stretch, stoop, and/or reach above shoulder level for extended periods of time.
  • Pass and maintain Professional Crisis Management (PCM) certification, including implementation of all strategies and techniques.
  • Move or be moved freely and quickly to ensure the safety of students and participants at all times.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel
• Comfortable using an Apple iPad for data collection
